Wiki etiquette

  • When you add or edit things, include your name.

  • Do not delete anything someone else puts on the wiki. If you want to, put it in strikethru and then disagree with it as a comment.

  • Do not "steal" edit locks. Meaning, if you click to edit a page and someone else is editing it, you will get a message. Wait a reasonable amount of time, like 15 minutes, before assuming they forgot and walked away from their computer.

  • (Along with the preceding) If you are editing a page, SAVE frequently. That way people will know you're still actively editing the page.

  • If someone does steal your edit lock by mistake (you will know when you try to save), click the browser back button and cut and paste your changes to a document from which you can re-enter them later. And then send out an e-mail reminding people to respect edit locks.
