Task: Look into USDA and California regulations and report here about which apply and what they say.
- Joanna: I can help with this, starting with some of the links on the resources page. What should I have in mind as the outcome? A summary that would be posted to this wiki?

- Bonnie says: Wonderful. And yes, a summary of the pertinent regulations would be perfect. What we're looking for: How much of a pig/cow/lamb has to be "pre-sold" before it can be slaughtered on the farm as a "courtesy" to its owners. Is there a limit on how many people can go in together to buy that 1/4 or 1/8 of the animal? what about transport?
